We want to learn about Life Review and Reminiscing from a Native Hawaiian perspective.
We will be hosting focus groups as part of a sub-grant from Nat'l Institute of Health (NIH) to learn from YOU how to develop a Native Hawaiian life-review option for other kūpuna and their families.
Our hope is to create a new mo'olelo (life story) structure that is developed with kūpuna for kūpuna.
If you are 55 years or older, who identify as Native Hawaiian, then we invite you to join us for two focus group meetings: one at the end of October, the next one in February 2025 (as a follow-up to the first meeting).
We are also going to recruit a 3rd focus group meeting during April 2025 to add new kūpuna to join us then for additional input.
If anyone wishes to participate, but is not available, then we can set up individual interviews.
You will receive a $20 gift card for each group meeting for your time.
Focus Groups will take about 1.5 hours for each meeting.
All responses will be kept confidential and will only be reported together with other responses as aggregated data.
For the first focus group meeting:
FRIDAY, November 1 - 1:00PM - 2:30PM;
Na Kūpuna Makamae,
653 Ala Moana Blvd., Honolulu HI 96813
