Given parking constraints and consideration of your personal safety, we would appreciate it if you can arrive only 15 minutes before class time.
As we are a private parking lot with towing, please do not leave your car in the parking lot and leave the premises without notifying the front desk first. Parking is only for visitors of NKMC. Mahalo!
Accessible Yoga - Yoga for All
Join yoga instructor Kumiko and learn how to connect the mind and the body through Accessible Yoga. Classes are for everyone regardless of one’s mobility. We will be using chairs, mats, and other props to learn the essence of yoga in a safe and fun environment. The class will end with a relaxing guided meditation.
Supplies needed:
Yoga mat
Cushion or Bath towel
Yoga will be taking a break for the rest of the year. Class will resume again on 1/6/25.
Zen Movement Meditation
Dr. Lee’s “Stress Management Meditation Program” involves not only the aesthetics of Movements but also the discipline of the mind to relieve stress and produce a feeling of well-being. Its simplicity and effectiveness as a non-strenuous exercise have gained enthusiastic acceptance of varied multi-national audiences from her 45 years of teaching experience.
We are currently taking registration for this class - the class will begin when there are enough students.
Mindfulness Qigong for Strength and Balance & Gentle Yoga
A series of exercise steps that help strengthen and stretch different parts of your body while enhancing your balance. This routine was developed by an elderly Zen Master who wanted to keep his body supple. Every joint is addressed. The bamboo stick movements are followed by some gentle yoga to relax the lower back and absorb the benefits of the routine.
Supplies needed:
Yoga mat - If you would like to join the yoga session in the second half of the class.

Lei/Pua Culture - Aloha Fridays
Learn how to be green and stay green by using fresh flowers and foliage from around the island to make a beautiful kūpeʻe or two to take home. Pua from your own garden is welcome too! Flowers for the kūpeʻe depend on what is available and/or donated to the class for that week. We make sure to use natural resources to make beautiful creations, so join us today!
*Leis are only done on special occasions.
*Students are required to take a few classes in order to move up to a Lei po’o. Approval from the kumu (teacher) is required and there may be an additional fee for supplies.
Supplies needed:
Scissor (required), Small Towel (required), Recycle Plastic Bag (required), Any pua (flowers) or greenery you may want to share (optional)

Hanafuda Po’ai - Japanese Flower Cards
Hanafuda Hawai’i is about using games to teach young people and to keep the minds of the elderly active and engaged. A friendship circle to learn and share the game with others of all ages and bring generations together.
Drop-in classes that welcome novice to advanced level students! Teachers are on hand to guide you.
* Prize Table Day is on the last class of the month. If you would like to donate to the prize table, please bring your items on those days only. No articles of clothing (gently used shoes/hats/accessories are ok). There is no obligation to donate to the prize table, this is only if you have any unwanted items in your home that you’d like to pass along. Make sure to bring all the game kālā you saved up to purchase the prizes!

Oli Hula Auana - Hula Kahiko
Teaching Hawaiian culture through hula, language, chanting, values, and understanding of these concepts involves learning the deeper meaning of the Hawaiian people. Kumu Bradford will help guide you in the art of hula as well as the history behind it in this class.
You must join Wednesday’s regular hula classes before you can take Tuesday’s practice classes.

Lauhala - Traditional Hawaiian Weaving
Learn the art of traditional Hawaiian weaving with dried luahala strips from the Hala trees to make bracelets, mats, purses and more! All students work on their own projects at their own pace and there will be a series of steps in projects to follow from the teacher.

Tai Chi for Health - Arthritis and Fall Prevention
Tai Chi has often been called “Moving Meditation” for its graceful and slow forms and movements. Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention, certified by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), is one of the leading health exercises proven to enhance balance, help prevent falls and increase overall well-being.
